From the Earth upwards is about 10 miles to the stratosphere, and short wave blue light tends to scatter giving our sky its bluish tint during the day. In the late afternoon, it is about 20 miles to the horizon plus the same 10 miles to the stratosphere. Only the long wave red light can penetrate this larger distance, so sunsets are oranges and reds, such as here giving these snowy branches an ironic “fiery” cast. #Earth #Beautiful #Landscape #Scenic #Adventure #BeautifulPlanetEarth #EarthMyMother #EarthPhotography #EarthPics #EarthPhotos #Photography #Animals #AnimalPhotgraphy
